Switching to the Wellness Pet Diet
It’s important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet to the Wellness Pet Diet, as it takes several days for the body to adjust to the new nutritional content. Switch brands and gradually mix in the new food over 5-7 days, increasing the amount of the Wellness Pet Diet daily. After 7 days, you can feed the Wellness Pet Diet 100%.

Determining Your Feeding Ratio
Referring to the chart below, divide the total number of cups fed per day by the total number of feedings per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Always have a bowl of clean water readily available. Wellness Pet Health believes in mixing dry food with canned food to help increase your puppy’s water intake at all times. Nutrition is only part of the equation! Be sure to give your puppy plenty of love, exercise, and regular veterinary visits to ensure overall health.

Recommended Feeding Rates
Every dog is slightly different, so the optimal feeding amount may vary depending on age, size, and activity level. The information below is for initial recommendations only; please adjust as necessary.

One cup = 104 grams

Dogs over 180 lbs (52 kg ): Add 1/3 cup (35 g) for every 1.5 kg (4.5 kg) of body weight.

Mixed Feeding : If feeding canned food, reduce the amount of dry food by 1/3 cup (35 g) for every 6 oz (170 g) of canned food.
